Information Architecture
As a new division of Canadian Western Bank, Motive was created with a renewed focus on users who identify themselves as “Savy savers”. Introduced on Feb 28, 2019: Motive had an industry-leading 2.80% interest rate on savings.

Along with a new research data, we tested the usability of the current website and identified opportunities for improvement.

Bringing thrifty back

Our research partner Advanis shows 90% of Canadians are highly optimistic about their personal goals and saving money during a 2019 poll.

Survey Methodology: A survey of 1246 Canadians was completed online during the period of Oct 30 to Nov 14 using an online panel. A probability sample of the same size would yield a margin of error of +/- 2.8%, 19 times out of 20.

Remote testing

Being in a lockdown due to COVID, we opted for un-moderated remote testing. Our sample size was 5 participants who were in Canada and have never heard about Motive financial. This was to avoid any biases while still recruiting our target users.

One of the key findings showed us that we were hiding essential information about the accounts on our FAQ, which users couldn’t find easily.
